Phuket Old Town

Where to eat in Phuket Old Town

Two hundred places inside the square kilometre serve food, which is why half a day here is not enough and a week is not silly.

Ranked by how many people have actually eaten there, the busiest restaurant in Old Town is Punjabi. Mexican comes sixth, and Turkish takes two of the top fifteen.

Both halves are the real Old Town. A guide that lists only the Thai institutions is describing a district that stopped existing a while ago, and you would walk straight past half of what is full on a Tuesday night.

The two halves also keep different hours. The local kitchens shut between 18:00 and 20:00 and the international ones run to midnight, which is most of what decides where you end up eating dinner:who took the evening, and what it cost.

The ten busiest

Distances are along the pavement from the middle of Thalang Road, not straight lines. Price bands are Google's own, and most restaurants here publish one.
