Planning a visit
Old Town is about one square kilometre. The planning problem is not distance, it is which day you come and which hour you start.

Six stops, 2,346 m of walking, about four and a half hours. Start 10:00 at the free car park. Skip it Sunday and Monday — the lunch stop is shut.
The things that decide your day
Sunday. Thalang Road closes to traffic in the evening and the night market takes it over. Kopitiam is shut all day, and so is a lot else.
Monday. Several places close. Thai Hua does not, which is most of the reason it is on every itinerary here.
The hour you start. Soi Romanee is empty before 09:00 and full by 11:00. Nothing about the street changes; the light and the crowd do.
